Thick Watery Slime Safety Tips

Thick water slime contains a lot of glycerin and borax.

  • Be sure to wash your hands after playing.
  • You may feel dry skin on your hands after playing

Ingredients and Proportions for Thick Watery Slime Recipe

Step 1: Paste Preparation

a. Combine guar gum & glycerin in a glass bowl. The ratio is about 2:1

b. Gradually add edible titanium dioxide while whisking. Need a large amount

→ Target: Smooth white paste (no lumps)

You can add guar gum and glycerin depending on how much Thick Watery Slime you want to make. I think Thick Watery Slime needs more to be fun when playing. I recommend 30g glycerin and 60g guar gum powder.

The purpose of adding titanium dioxide is to increase the thickness of Thick Watery Slime. It should be noted that titanium dioxide should be added while stirring, and a small amount of titanium dioxide should be added each time in multiple times.

Step 2: Dilution

a. Heat purified water to 40°C (104°F)

b. Slowly incorporate water into the paste

    → Maintain 10:1 water-paste ratio

c. Whisk 5min until colloidal suspension forms

This is what makes Thick Slime Watery "runny"

Step 3: Prevent sticky hands

a. Add contact lens solution/makeup remover. You can add more after the slime is activated.

b. Optional: Preservative

Guar gum can easily cause your Thick Watery Slime to mold because it is edible.

If you want to keep it for several days, consider adding a preservative

Step 4: How Thick you like

a. Sprinkle citric acid in ¼ tsp increments

b. Stir 2min between additions

→ Stop when reaching honey-like viscosity

Add citric acid and continue stirring. You will find that the solution becomes viscous. The weight is based on your preference. The key is to add a small amount at a time, add multiple times, and keep stirring until the solution reaches the effect you want. If you add too much citric acid at a time, it will not be activated.

Step 5: Add Slime Glue

a. Mix PVA glue into guar base

   → Maintain 1:4 glue-guar ratio

Step 6: Activation

a. Add 8% borax solution dropwise

   → Typical usage: 2ml per 50g slime

b. Knead until non-sticky texture forms

Key issues in making Thick Watery Slime

If you get a watery slime that breaks when you pull it, it means there is too little glycerin or too much borax.
